How To Halt Halitosis

Posted by PREMIER DENTAL GROUP HI on Jan 10 2021, 09:46 PM

A large number of people suffer from halitosis. One of the most important reasons for this problem is poor oral hygiene. People across the globe have come up with easy remedies to halt halitosis.

Here, we will share a few easy tricks to get rid of bad breath and get rid of halitosis.

Brush Twice a Day

  • Brushing your teeth twice a day solves half of the oral health issues. However, there are techniques and proper methods to brush teeth.
  • Rinse your mouth.
  • Use a soft bristle brush.
  • Apply a pea-size toothpaste to a wet toothbrush.
  • Move the toothbrush into circular motions onto the teeth.
  • Try to reach every nook and corner of your mouth.
  • Rinse thoroughly, leaving no amount of toothpaste in your mouth.

Drink 6-8 Glasses of Water Daily

A hydrated body is capable of keeping diseases at bay. The same goes for halitosis; water helps in cleaning the food residues and makes you feel fresh.

Clean the Tongue

Just like brushing teeth is important, cleaning the tongue is equally so. Grab a tongue scraper and clean your tongue whenever you brush your teeth.

A Healthy Diet

Avoid fasting, low-carbohydrate diets, and food with a strong odor (such as onion, garlic). Consume food that is low in sugars and caffeine.

Say No to Tobacco and Alcohol

These items dehydrate the mouth and result in odor.

Floss- One-stop Solution

Flossing helps in the reduction of food build-ups and clears the plaque between the teeth.

Clean your Dentures

Always clean the dentures, mouth guard, or a bridge, if you use one. Whatever goes into your mouth needs to be hygienic to prevent the bacteria from building up and being transferred back into the mouth.

Follow these quick tips and go out with a confident and radiant smile.
