Yesterday I had my first molar extraction and I was quite scared. I've always struggled with stress going to any dentist for anything. The Hilo office staff and Dr. Sayah made me feel so welcomed and comfortable with this procedure. I barely had time to blink and the procedure was over. Amazing! They earn a 5 star from me in giving me the most professional, caring experience possible.
Dr Kai Kawasugi ang his assistant Mel are the absolute best. This invisilign journey is a long one but I always look forward to seeing those two. Love them both!!!

Took my niece in to see Dr. Kai Kawasugi for invisalign, he was just amazing. He was informative, educational, and he had the best chair side manners. My niece had a lot of questions and he was patient, took his time, answered all her questions and made her feel comfortable. There was no pressure but after the consultation we were ready to go. Premier Dental Group is my go-to dentist! Located in Waipahu, across from Times, it is easy to get to and parking is a breeze! I normally see Dr. Mukai or Dr. Lee. Both are very thorough and friendly. All of the staff is also very friendly and accommodating. During COVID, they have made lots of accommodations. Temperature checks, health questionnaire and they provide hand sanitizer. The patient rooms are also very clean and sanitized in between patients I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a new dentist! Cheers to Premier Dental Grouo in Waipahu!

I hate going to the dentist and have Dentophobia, BUT I must say this was the first ever in my life that I had a thorough exam from start to finish. My mind was blown because I never had that kind of service before. Thank you to the awesome staff (receptionist- so sorry forgot her name), Assistant Christine, Hygienist Janet and Dr. Mukai for making my visit awesome! Excellent care! Staff is very caring. I even had a dental emergency when everything was shut down but Dr Lee came in just to help me. I feel very safe because they take all precautions. Had to change an old mouth guard from a precious dental office that didn't fit right but with the new one, Dr. Zach Lee took the time to be sure it fit perfectly.

I've been going to Dr. Scott ever since I had teeth and he's been great! Very friendly and professional staff that have been able to adapt during this COVID-19 pandemic and definitely looking out for their client's health and safety. The waiting area inside Premier Dental only allows 2 patients maximum and plastic guards have been installed at the reception desk and throughout the office. They take your temperature upon arrival and have a questionnaire to fill-out for contact tracing purposes. Also, they have hand sanitizer and social distance signs everywhere. Definitely a Premier Dental Office!
Staff is great. I come to this office every three months for dental cleanings and to see the dentist to check my teeth. Very clean office and I am always seen on time. Never had to wait past my scheduled appointment to be seen. My hygienist is very friendly. This time I appreciated the extra COVID 19 screenings. This tells me that they take pride in keeping us patients safe and healthy. If you are looking for a dentist go see them.
Dr. Glenn Takaki is the BEST dentist I've ever been to in almost 40 years on the planet. I've been coming to him for about 15 years now (I followed him to his office in Aiea when he left the office at Restaurant Row). He has always given me sound advice and I completely trust him with my dental care. No "surprise, you need a bunch of work" (I swear there are dentists out there who "find" things you need worked on but don't actually). He's friendly, down to earth and a genuinely nice guy. I even sent my mom to him when she needed emergency service on a cap when she was visiting. She loves him, too! His staff are friendly and professional. Martin is my favorite for a deep down cleaning and a cackle while I'm in his chair. I feel like their prices are competitive too. Check them out- you won't be disappointed!!
I have terrible dental anxiety and then I cracked my tooth. Thank goodness for Dr. Heather Cantori. She was so understanding, patient, and gentle with me. She even sat with me while we were waiting for the novocaine to take effect. I'm so glad that I got this tooth repaired by her. I can chew without discomfort now. I'm very grateful. Highly recommend.

As safety went, they couldn't have been better. Masks, shields, gloves, gowns, sanitizing everything in sight was well-done. The dental cleaning was thorough, painless, and even pleasant. I've been coming to this dental office for years. When my dentist, Dr. Ogawa retired, I was sad at first. Then I met Dr. Mukai! What stood out to me was her efficiency during procedures and attention to my needs. Laying there for an hour, I got to observe the ease in which the staff communicate with each other- respect, consideration, professionalism. That says a lot about the morale and character of the business. I've been to other dental groups. Compared to them, Dr. Mukai and the staff (Arlene, Josie, Alicia) make me feel comfortable. I HATE going to the dentist... I mean, no one likes to go someplace where their main objective is to identify flaws in their personal hygiene. I'm already feeling vulnerable and insecure... but at this dental office I don't. They don't make me feel like a child who did something wrong. I always leave with a positive feeling and a plastic bag of goodies (aka new toothbrush, cool toothpaste, and a sticker for my daughter).
Although Dr. Ogawa has retired, Dr. Lee and staff is great for emergency repairs and maintenance. Getting old sucks and having teeth fail you, but getting squeezed in such short notice was a life saver.
The service is very friendly and good dental work they make sure you leave with a smile and come back for your next dental appointment I recommend them to anyone who needs a dentist...

I am glad or upbeat that I found this dentistry, as I am still not really considered a new patient but have gone there 3 times so far with progress on my decaying teeth, and my dentist, Dr. Hennasea Tokumura is a brilliant young aspiring female with skills that's very advanced, being able to do dental implants. I trust her and we really like her, as all of my dentists in my life have been very personable and intelligent. Another thing is I wouldn't care to have a dentist or doctor who doesn't like canines, being I have a female golden retriever that accompanies me everywhere, reason being of my health conditions and the significant duties she provides me with, and she's not an ESA animal.....but to all of my doctors and dental specialists, as Dr. Hennasea has a special place in her heart for many dogs, as many of us does, and the rest of the staff there, being so friendly but professional, we thank you for permitting us to be a part of Premier Dental Group"s Ohana, Gary and Brandy 2
The staff here are AMAZING. I have never experienced customer service at a medical office that is this good. I have an odd dental insurance company and I couldn’t explain it over the phone when I booked my first appointment so they asked me to come in and they could see if they take my insurance. The girls at the front desk spent over 20 minutes working to see if they took my insurance and they did that without me asking. They were sweet and kind and SO HELPFUL. We found out that they did take my insurance and they set me up as a new patient. They were able to get me in for a general checkup and a cleaning within 3 days and they were able to work with my schedule with no issues. I went in for my checkup and the dental hygienist I worked with was amazing. I have very bad anxiety in the dentist office. I let her know that when I sat down and she explained every single thing she was doing and why she was doing it throughout my appointment. I have only seen Dr. Hennesee but she is really sweet. They have really good prices as well and they were able to accommodate me and remove some botched orthodontic work that was done at my old dentist. I will absolutely recommend this office to anyone looking for dental work.

More than 20+ years ago, I needed to pull my wisdom tooth. Dr. Gomez was so kind and his voice was so soothing during the procedure that I didn't notice when he pulled it out. Just saw him again today for a rebuild, his office and his skills are still #1 in my books. I highly recommend anyone and everyone, especially if you are afraid of dentists!
This place is amazing! I had to have two cavities filled and the doctor did them both without any injections and I felt absolutely no pain whatsoever. I’m sure this would not be the case for some people, but I was so happy! Highly highly recommend them. He also was absolutely amazing with my child, she left happy. The front desk staff is also very friendly and accommodating.

I never wrote a review before but I was so amazed with the level of service from Dr.Kris Nip and his staff that I just had to. I knew Dr.Nip since we were in preschool and he continues to always be compassionate and caring. I got into a diving accident and broke my tooth and was trying to see if it would be fine. As soon as Dr.Nip seen my post online, he messaged me and gave me great advice. I decided I wanted to get this fixed immediately and asked for his availability. With his busy schedule, he had no openings but without hesitation he offered to come in early in the morning to help me. He is very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the process to ease my anxiety. I swear he is the nicest and most compassionate doctor I've met! He is definitely going to be my lifelong dentist and I recommend him to everyone!

I had the pleasure of visiting this place yesterday and was very pleased with the office staff, including Dr. Afar. I had been told by two separate periodontists that I needed surgery that included bone grafts and other complex procedures. Dr. Afar went on a different direction and recommended cleanings every 3 months. This saves me thousands of dollars so I am very grateful to him for being honest. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for for an all round good dentist office.

If you have any concerns, please speak up and he will take care of it immediately.I know my brother went to another dentist and they drilled so deep to remove the silver, they ended up removing the whole tooth and the wrong tooth as well.Dr. Takaki is very personable and easy to speak to. He answers all your concerns and takes the time to guide you to the best treatment plan and outcome. They do not rush you out if you have many questions. I highly recommend Dr. Takaki at Premier Dental Group, Pali momi, for basic care and cosmetic dental needs.I even recommended my family who will be seeing him also.I look forward to completing my cosmetic journey with him, like resurfacing/shaping my teeth and whitening after invisalign, maybe veneers. OK, everyone who fears and dreads going to the dentist, raise your hand. Not me. Would you believe I'm so comfortable at my dentist that I always feel like falling asleep in the chair...isn't that funny? I guess it is because I have the utmost confidence in everyone there, plus they have a nice comfortable atmosphere.....zzzzz. I have gone to Dr. Amy ever since the practice opened and I have found that she and her staff will do their best to give you the best service and comfort during your appointment. Very professional but also very personable...easy to talk to and many times, you may end up talking story to one of the staff. Got a cavity? You get to watch a movie while they work on it. How good is that? You get to wear these goggles that make it seem like you are sitting in a theater by yourself. They will monitor and constantly inquire on how you are feeling during the appointment and during any cleaning or treatment. Such a caring staff! They will also give you tips and suggestions on dental care. I have got to tell you though, they're so good, it is hard to get an appointment sometimes but they will try to do their best to fit you in when they can. And that is thanks to Arlene, the awesome receptionist. I have got to admit, when I was child, I hated going to the dentist. Thank you, Dr. Amy & staff for making this into something that I don't fear anymore. In fact, I'm so bad...sometimes I look forward to having a cavity...just to get to watch a movie! lol

Their reception Kristine was so friendly at check in and made us feel very welcomed. My dad went to back and Jen helped him with his X-rays. Dr. Takaki identified the problem and fix it so quick and painlessly. He went over how the problem could have occurred and what our next steps would be. Amy and her staff are the greatest. She is my family dentist and I've sent a lot of co-workers there. The environment is laid back but professional, shes innovated, personable and really caring. I think if everyone knew about her the placed would be packed because she's a rock star.
Dr. Gomez and his staff are amazing. I've moved around a lot in my life and have been to a lot of different dentists. Dr. Gomez and his office are the best I've ever had. He and his hygienists have taken the time to really explain to me what's going on with my teeth. And their explanations have made me want to floss on a regular basis (rather than feeling it's drudgery I have to do). Jaz at the front desk is amazing as well. She is always ready for me when I walk through the door and is an expert at handling insurance. She has made sure that my husband and I are fully aware of out-of-pocket costs we'll incur before any procedure. It doesn't get any better than this office.
Since we moved to Hawaii, my wife and I see Dr. Gomez and his hygienists for our dental needs. They are very attentive, they do not exaggerate your minor dental issues or recommend unnecessary procedures, and prioritize what is important and necessary for your dental health. As long as I am in Hawaii, I won't be changing dentists.
Left Gentle Dental after a bad experience and went and saw Scott Gomez. He has been stellar, never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seen. I feel that I am getting my monies worth with him. Takes care of my issues, and the hygienist ensures that I know what I should be working on. Education is key, and they do teach you what you need to do. Would not go anywhere else, highly recommended.
We've been going here for 30+ years. Two dentists practicing there now I believe, but Dr. Gomez is our dentist. I should have the right to call him uncle!! Lol. He's been taking care of my teeth for as long as I remember. Now he takes care of my wife and son. If I'm out of Oahu and visiting another dentist I feel like I'm betraying him lol.I've never had a complaint. Well I guess I can complain about parking. Sometimes there is none. His place is at the Pearl City/Waialua area where Times, iHop, etc are. Times hogs a lot of parking stall space and sometimes it's real busy there. Also I'm not sure if the building has an elevator to get to the Dr's office. They are located on the 2nd floor so if there is no elevator it would be hard for those with wheelchairs or kids on strollers or whatever.Friendly staff and they're always really nice, playful and patient with my two year old who tags along and tends to run around while I get my teeth worked on.Highly recommended.
r. Ogawa and her Team of receptionist Arlene and hygienists have been taking good care of my Mom and I. We've been going here for over 10 years, more than half of my life. I was referred to her and transferred from my previous dentist at Pediatric Dentistry Associate in Pearl City. The gist was I was maturing into a big kid and needed the services of a General Dentist. Most of my fillings were done by my previous dentist which I have no recollection of. I just go by my parents' stories of them having to drug me with drowsy meds before our drive over LOL. I do remember still having to get cavities filled after I transferred to Dr. Ogawa. She has a steady hand when injecting the Dental Anesthetic after applying the topical anesthesia. She's a cool, calm, collected soul -- and how rad is it that she surfs?! I've never felt anxiety as I did from my previous dentist office. Going to the Dentist no longer scared me thanks to this office. They're simply awesome. Parking: Free Lot
I had cracked my back tooth and needed to get it worked on. My sister who is a dental hygienist highly recommended Dr. Ogawa. I had called Dr. Ogawa late the same night that I cracked my tooth and she called me the very next morning and was able to schedule me really quickly. When I went in for my appointment Dr. Ogawa and her staff were amazing and helpful.
Definitely the best Dentist... We have been going here for 3 years. You will not find a more personal, flexible, and friendly doctor. His staff is super caring as well. They provided an level of customer service that is hard to find. I have had multiple cleanings, fillings, and wisdom teeth pulled. If I could I would fly back to Hawaii for all my future dental work. Thank you Dr Gomez and Staff! We will miss you.
I highly recommend Dr Amy Ogawa as your dentist. My first visit with Dr Amy Ogawa was fantastic. She restored my upper front teeth with no pain! Her injections were painless! Usually needles to the front teeth are quite painful, but she was awesome. Because my appointment was going to take some time, she allowed me to watch a movie with a goggle like monitor. I was in awe! So while I watched "Sleepless in Seattle", she worked on my teeth. Now I have a beautiful smile! Thank you, Dr Ogawa, you're amazing.
Dr. Gomez is the bomb. He is friendly and really seems to know what he's doing. A friend recommended him when my regular dentist said I had to remove some teeth. Dr. Gomez said my teeth looked fine, but, that I should take better care of them.He showed me the x-rays and explained everything fully. He's my dentist for sure now

I've been going to Dr. Gomez for a few years now. I chose this dentist because when I applied for a job they had a list of dentists that we had to choose from and since this was close to home I decided to give it a shot. I am so happy that I did because he's been my dentist for 6 years, my mom and brothers also go to him too. We used to have a dentist in town that would charge an extreme amount of money. When I first started going to him the receptionist they had was such a bitch I couldn't stand her but had to deal with her, a few years later she was gone. The girls that they have now are great. They are very friendly and accommodating. He is very knowledgeable, gentle and if he feels that you don't really need work done then he won't make you do it so he can make money. He isn't money hungry. I will continue to go to Dr. Gomez until he retires.
Dr. Gomez is THE best dentist ever! So gentle...no matter what kind of work he's doing and tells you exactly what you need...nothing more, nothing less! I've been going to him for 24 years...and so have three generations of my family!
I have been seeing Dr. Ogawa for over 15 years and she is awesome. Her clinic runs smoothly and all her staff are very professional and well trained. But the reason I am writing this review is how she handles emergency situations. I almost never have teeth problems but my wife had to get a tooth extracted and she was in pain, bad pain, more worse pain than when she gave birth (naturally, twice). Dr. Ogawa was quick to see her and referred her out to an oral surgeon. The oral surgeon could not see her till A MONTH from now but Dr. Ogawa was quick to respond to our crisis and offered to manage her care till my wife could see the oral surgeon. Thankfully a cancelation occured and my wife got to see the surgeon that next day. Thank you Dr. Ogawa. My whole family sees her. My dad, mom, my wife and my kids and also all my neices and nephews. Dr. Ogawa is great with kids. She is "auntie amy" to them. If you are looking for a dentist, you should really give Dr. Ogawa a try. You won't be dissappointed. She has no jingling commercials or over the top advertising like some of the other money hungry dentists. She is just a great dentist with a great staff. She also teaches at the University of Hawaii so her dental background is solid.

Yesterday I had my first molar extraction and I was quite scared. I've always struggled with stress going to any dentist for anything. The Hilo office staff and Dr. Sayah made me feel so welcomed and comfortable with this procedure. I barely had time to blink and the procedure was over. Amazing! They earn a 5 star from me in giving me the most professional, caring experience possible.
Dr Kai Kawasugi ang his assistant Mel are the absolute best. This invisilign journey is a long one but I always look forward to seeing those two. Love them both!!!

Took my niece in to see Dr. Kai Kawasugi for invisalign, he was just amazing. He was informative, educational, and he had the best chair side manners. My niece had a lot of questions and he was patient, took his time, answered all her questions and made her feel comfortable. There was no pressure but after the consultation we were ready to go. Premier Dental Group is my go-to dentist! Located in Waipahu, across from Times, it is easy to get to and parking is a breeze! I normally see Dr. Mukai or Dr. Lee. Both are very thorough and friendly. All of the staff is also very friendly and accommodating. During COVID, they have made lots of accommodations. Temperature checks, health questionnaire and they provide hand sanitizer. The patient rooms are also very clean and sanitized in between patients I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a new dentist! Cheers to Premier Dental Grouo in Waipahu!
Twain was working the front desk. He was polite kind updated me when my hygienist would be ready. Hazel does a wonderful dental cleaning. She explains everything is very through. I hate going to the dentist and have Dentophobia, BUT I must say this was the first ever in my life that I had a thorough exam from start to finish. My mind was blown because I never had that kind of service before. Thank you to the awesome staff (receptionist- so sorry forgot her name), Assistant Christine, Hygienist Janet and Dr. Mukai for making my visit awesome! I know I need a lot of work and the wait may be long, but worth it! I definitely recommend them for your dental care. Thank you again!

Awesome Experience 🙂 I totally put it off all the time but The people there are amazing and make it a nice experience. aunty Irene Is the kindest and full of Aloha at the front and the team in the back are Super gentle and very easy to ask them questions and they explain it back in terms I get. Excellent care! Staff is very caring. I even had a dental emergency when everything was shut down but Dr Lee came in just to help me. I feel very safe because they take all precautions. Had to change an old mouth guard from a precious dental office that didn't fit right but with the new one, Dr. Zach Lee took the time to be sure it fit perfectly.

I've been going to Dr. Scott ever since I had teeth and he's been great! Very friendly and professional staff that have been able to adapt during this COVID-19 pandemic and definitely looking out for their client's health and safety. The waiting area inside Premier Dental only allows 2 patients maximum and plastic guards have been installed at the reception desk and throughout the office. They take your temperature upon arrival and have a questionnaire to fill-out for contact tracing purposes. Also, they have hand sanitizer and social distance signs everywhere. Definitely a Premier Dental Office!
Staff is great. I come to this office every three months for dental cleanings and to see the dentist to check my teeth. Very clean office and I am always seen on time. Never had to wait past my scheduled appointment to be seen. My hygienist is very friendly. This time I appreciated the extra COVID 19 screenings. This tells me that they take pride in keeping us patients safe and healthy. If you are looking for a dentist go see them.
Dr. Glenn Takaki is the BEST dentist I've ever been to in almost 40 years on the planet. I've been coming to him for about 15 years now (I followed him to his office in Aiea when he left the office at Restaurant Row). He has always given me sound advice and I completely trust him with my dental care. No "surprise, you need a bunch of work" (I swear there are dentists out there who "find" things you need worked on but don't actually). He's friendly, down to earth and a genuinely nice guy. I even sent my mom to him when she needed emergency service on a cap when she was visiting. She loves him, too! His staff are friendly and professional. Martin is my favorite for a deep down cleaning and a cackle while I'm in his chair. I feel like their prices are competitive too. Check them out- you won't be disappointed!!
I have terrible dental anxiety and then I cracked my tooth. Thank goodness for Dr. Heather Cantori. She was so understanding, patient, and gentle with me. She even sat with me while we were waiting for the novocaine to take effect. I'm so glad that I got this tooth repaired by her. I can chew without discomfort now. I'm very grateful. Highly recommend.

As safety went, they couldn't have been better. Masks, shields, gloves, gowns, sanitizing everything in sight was well-done. The dental cleaning was thorough, painless, and even pleasant. Procedures were explained and the vacuum used to protect us from aerosols was brilliant. I left feeling good about the entire visit, from start to finish. And yes, I'm about going back for more

I've been coming to this dental office for years. When my dentist, Dr. Ogawa retired, I was sad at first. Then I met Dr. Mukai! What stood out to me was her efficiency during procedures and attention to my needs. Laying there for an hour, I got to observe the ease in which the staff communicate with each other- respect, consideration, professionalism. That says a lot about the morale and character of the business. I've been to other dental groups. Compared to them, Dr. Mukai and the staff (Arlene, Josie, Alicia) make me feel comfortable. I HATE going to the dentist... I mean, no one likes to go someplace where their main objective is to identify flaws in their personal hygiene. I'm already feeling vulnerable and insecure... but at this dental office I don't. They don't make me feel like a child who did something wrong. I always leave with a positive feeling and a plastic bag of goodies (aka new toothbrush, cool toothpaste, and a sticker for my daughter).
Although Dr. Ogawa has retired, Dr. Lee and staff is great for emergency repairs and maintenance. Getting old sucks and having teeth fail you, but getting squeezed in such short notice was a life saver.
The service is very friendly and good dental work they make sure you leave with a smile and come back for your next dental appointment I recommend them to anyone who needs a dentist...

I am glad or upbeat that I found this dentistry, as I am still not really considered a new patient but have gone there 3 times so far with progress on my decaying teeth, and my dentist, Dr. Hennasea Tokumura is a brilliant young aspiring female with skills that's very advanced, being able to do dental implants. I trust her and we really like her, as all of my dentists in my life have been very personable and intelligent. Another thing is I wouldn't care to have a dentist or doctor who doesn't like canines, being I have a female golden retriever that accompanies me everywhere, reason being of my health conditions and the significant duties she provides me with, and she's not an ESA animal.....but to all of my doctors and dental specialists, as Dr. Hennasea has a special place in her heart for many dogs, as many of us does, and the rest of the staff there, being so friendly but professional, we thank you for permitting us to be a part of Premier Dental Group"s Ohana, Gary and Brandy 2
The staff here are AMAZING. I have never experienced customer service at a medical office that is this good. I have an odd dental insurance company and I couldn’t explain it over the phone when I booked my first appointment so they asked me to come in and they could see if they take my insurance. The girls at the front desk spent over 20 minutes working to see if they took my insurance and they did that without me asking. They were sweet and kind and SO HELPFUL. We found out that they did take my insurance and they set me up as a new patient. They were able to get me in for a general checkup and a cleaning within 3 days and they were able to work with my schedule with no issues. I went in for my checkup and the dental hygienist I worked with was amazing. I have very bad anxiety in the dentist office. I let her know that when I sat down and she explained every single thing she was doing and why she was doing it throughout my appointment. I have only seen Dr. Hennesee but she is really sweet. They have really good prices as well and they were able to accommodate me and remove some botched orthodontic work that was done at my old dentist. I will absolutely recommend this office to anyone looking for dental work.

More than 20+ years ago, I needed to pull my wisdom tooth. Dr. Gomez was so kind and his voice was so soothing during the procedure that I didn't notice when he pulled it out. Just saw him again today for a rebuild, his office and his skills are still #1 in my books. I highly recommend anyone and everyone, especially if you are afraid of dentists!
This place is amazing! I had to have two cavities filled and the doctor did them both without any injections and I felt absolutely no pain whatsoever. I’m sure this would not be the case for some people, but I was so happy! Highly highly recommend them. He also was absolutely amazing with my child, she left happy. The front desk staff is also very friendly and accommodating.

I never wrote a review before but I was so amazed with the level of service from Dr.Kris Nip and his staff that I just had to. I knew Dr.Nip since we were in preschool and he continues to always be compassionate and caring. I got into a diving accident and broke my tooth and was trying to see if it would be fine. As soon as Dr.Nip seen my post online, he messaged me and gave me great advice. I decided I wanted to get this fixed immediately and asked for his availability. With his busy schedule, he had no openings but without hesitation he offered to come in early in the morning to help me. He is very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the process to ease my anxiety. I swear he is the nicest and most compassionate doctor I've met! He is definitely going to be my lifelong dentist and I recommend him to everyone!

Charity at premier dental group was so helpful in making sure we were taken cared of even though we've never been here before.My other half was in pain and we needed it to be taken out right away. They were very understanding because my BF can't take off that often and this was the only day.She really helped with informing me about his insurance and after care.Mahalo for all your help
I had the pleasure of visiting this place yesterday and was very pleased with the office staff, including Dr. Afar. I had been told by two separate periodontists that I needed surgery that included bone grafts and other complex procedures. Dr. Afar went on a different direction and recommended cleanings every 3 months. This saves me thousands of dollars so I am very grateful to him for being honest. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for for an all round good dentist office.
Dr. Takaki is a perfectionist when it comes to teeth. I had him remove all my silver and replace with composite. He did a great job and you couldn't even see flaws. If you have any concerns, please speak up and he will take care of it immediately.I know my brother went to another dentist and they drilled so deep to remove the silver, they ended up removing the whole tooth and the wrong tooth as well.Dr. Takaki is very personable and easy to speak to. He answers all your concerns and takes the time to guide you to the best treatment plan and outcome. They do not rush you out if you have many questions. I highly recommend Dr. Takaki at Premier Dental Group, Pali momi, for basic care and cosmetic dental needs.I even recommended my family who will be seeing him also.I look forward to completing my cosmetic journey with him, like resurfacing/shaping my teeth and whitening after invisalign, maybe veneers. Everything will be symmetrical.

Entire staff was very friendly, introducing themselves by name and title. Each person explained throughly what they were doing and why they were doing it. As someone stated previously,Nice vibe and local feel to the office. I didn't wait more than 10 minutes at any given time, from being checked in, to X-rays and cleaning, to scheduling my next appointment. OK, everyone who fears and dreads going to the dentist, raise your hand. Not me. Would you believe I'm so comfortable at my dentist that I always feel like falling asleep in the chair...isn't that funny? I guess it is because I have the utmost confidence in everyone there, plus they have a nice comfortable atmosphere.....zzzzz. I have gone to Dr. Amy ever since the practice opened and I have found that she and her staff will do their best to give you the best service and comfort during your appointment. Very professional but also very personable...easy to talk to and many times, you may end up talking story to one of the staff. Got a cavity? You get to watch a movie while they work on it. How good is that? You get to wear these goggles that make it seem like you are sitting in a theater by yourself. They will monitor and constantly inquire on how you are feeling during the appointment and during any cleaning or treatment. Such a caring staff! They will also give you tips and suggestions on dental care. I have got to tell you though, they're so good, it is hard to get an appointment sometimes but they will try to do their best to fit you in when they can. And that is thanks to Arlene, the awesome receptionist. I have got to admit, when I was child, I hated going to the dentist. Thank you, Dr. Amy & staff for making this into something that I don't fear anymore. In fact, I'm so bad...sometimes I look forward to having a cavity...just to get to watch a movie! lol

Their reception Kristine was so friendly at check in and made us feel very welcomed. My dad went to back and Jen helped him with his X-rays. Dr. Takaki identified the problem and fix it so quick and painlessly. He went over how the problem could have occurred and what our next steps would be. We're definitely recommending him to all our friends and family! Thank you Premier Dental for your excellent customer service!!!
Amy and her staff are the greatest. She is my family dentist and I've sent a lot of co-workers there. The environment is laid back but professional, shes innovated, personable and really caring. I think if everyone knew about her the placed would be packed because she's a rock star.
Dr. Gomez and his staff are amazing. I've moved around a lot in my life and have been to a lot of different dentists. Dr. Gomez and his office are the best I've ever had. He and his hygienists have taken the time to really explain to me what's going on with my teeth. And their explanations have made me want to floss on a regular basis (rather than feeling it's drudgery I have to do). Jaz at the front desk is amazing as well. She is always ready for me when I walk through the door and is an expert at handling insurance. She has made sure that my husband and I are fully aware of out-of-pocket costs we'll incur before any procedure. It doesn't get any better than this office.
Since we moved to Hawaii, my wife and I see Dr. Gomez and his hygienists for our dental needs. They are very attentive, they do not exaggerate your minor dental issues or recommend unnecessary procedures, and prioritize what is important and necessary for your dental health. As long as I am in Hawaii, I won't be changing dentists.
Left Gentle Dental after a bad experience and went and saw Scott Gomez. He has been stellar, never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seen. I feel that I am getting my monies worth with him. Takes care of my issues, and the hygienist ensures that I know what I should be working on. Education is key, and they do teach you what you need to do. Would not go anywhere else, highly recommended.
We've been going here for 30+ years. Two dentists practicing there now I believe, but Dr. Gomez is our dentist. I should have the right to call him uncle!! Lol. He's been taking care of my teeth for as long as I remember. Now he takes care of my wife and son. If I'm out of Oahu and visiting another dentist I feel like I'm betraying him lol.I've never had a complaint. Well I guess I can complain about parking. Sometimes there is none. His place is at the Pearl City/Waialua area where Times, iHop, etc are. Times hogs a lot of parking stall space and sometimes it's real busy there. Also I'm not sure if the building has an elevator to get to the Dr's office. They are located on the 2nd floor so if there is no elevator it would be hard for those with wheelchairs or kids on strollers or whatever.Friendly staff and they're always really nice, playful and patient with my two year old who tags along and tends to run around while I get my teeth worked on.Highly recommended.
r. Ogawa and her Team of receptionist Arlene and hygienists have been taking good care of my Mom and I. We've been going here for over 10 years, more than half of my life. I was referred to her and transferred from my previous dentist at Pediatric Dentistry Associate in Pearl City. The gist was I was maturing into a big kid and needed the services of a General Dentist. Most of my fillings were done by my previous dentist which I have no recollection of. I just go by my parents' stories of them having to drug me with drowsy meds before our drive over LOL. I do remember still having to get cavities filled after I transferred to Dr. Ogawa. She has a steady hand when injecting the Dental Anesthetic after applying the topical anesthesia. She's a cool, calm, collected soul -- and how rad is it that she surfs?! I've never felt anxiety as I did from my previous dentist office. Going to the Dentist no longer scared me thanks to this office. They're simply awesome. Parking: Free Lot
I had cracked my back tooth and needed to get it worked on. My sister who is a dental hygienist highly recommended Dr. Ogawa. I had called Dr. Ogawa late the same night that I cracked my tooth and she called me the very next morning and was able to schedule me really quickly. When I went in for my appointment Dr. Ogawa and her staff were amazing and helpful.
Definitely the best Dentist... We have been going here for 3 years. You will not find a more personal, flexible, and friendly doctor. His staff is super caring as well. They provided an level of customer service that is hard to find. I have had multiple cleanings, fillings, and wisdom teeth pulled. If I could I would fly back to Hawaii for all my future dental work. Thank you Dr Gomez and Staff! We will miss you.
I highly recommend Dr Amy Ogawa as your dentist. My first visit with Dr Amy Ogawa was fantastic. She restored my upper front teeth with no pain! Her injections were painless! Usually needles to the front teeth are quite painful, but she was awesome. Because my appointment was going to take some time, she allowed me to watch a movie with a goggle like monitor. I was in awe! So while I watched "Sleepless in Seattle", she worked on my teeth. Now I have a beautiful smile! Thank you, Dr Ogawa, you're amazing.
Dr. Gomez is the bomb. He is friendly and really seems to know what he's doing. A friend recommended him when my regular dentist said I had to remove some teeth. Dr. Gomez said my teeth looked fine, but, that I should take better care of them.He showed me the x-rays and explained everything fully. He's my dentist for sure now
Very good experience with Dr. Gomez and his staff. From the receptionist to the hygienist (Hazel) all were very helpful and informative. One of the best cleanings I have ever received. I even got in for a same day appointment. A+
I used to get serious anxiety when it came to going to the dentist, not anymore. Dr. Ogawa and her staff are highly skilled dental professionals. Not only that, they are personable and actually care about your well being. Their office is small but nice. I'd recommend Dr. Ogawa to anyone.
I've been going to Dr. Gomez for a few years now. I chose this dentist because when I applied for a job they had a list of dentists that we had to choose from and since this was close to home I decided to give it a shot. I am so happy that I did because he's been my dentist for 6 years, my mom and brothers also go to him too. We used to have a dentist in town that would charge an extreme amount of money. When I first started going to him the receptionist they had was such a bitch I couldn't stand her but had to deal with her, a few years later she was gone. The girls that they have now are great. They are very friendly and accommodating. He is very knowledgeable, gentle and if he feels that you don't really need work done then he won't make you do it so he can make money. He isn't money hungry. I will continue to go to Dr. Gomez until he retires.
Dr. Gomez is THE best dentist ever! So gentle...no matter what kind of work he's doing and tells you exactly what you need...nothing more, nothing less! I've been going to him for 24 years...and so have three generations of my family!
I have been seeing Dr. Ogawa for over 15 years and she is awesome. Her clinic runs smoothly and all her staff are very professional and well trained. But the reason I am writing this review is how she handles emergency situations. I almost never have teeth problems but my wife had to get a tooth extracted and she was in pain, bad pain, more worse pain than when she gave birth (naturally, twice). Dr. Ogawa was quick to see her and referred her out to an oral surgeon. The oral surgeon could not see her till A MONTH from now but Dr. Ogawa was quick to respond to our crisis and offered to manage her care till my wife could see the oral surgeon. Thankfully a cancelation occured and my wife got to see the surgeon that next day. Thank you Dr. Ogawa. My whole family sees her. My dad, mom, my wife and my kids and also all my neices and nephews. Dr. Ogawa is great with kids. She is "auntie amy" to them. If you are looking for a dentist, you should really give Dr. Ogawa a try. You won't be dissappointed. She has no jingling commercials or over the top advertising like some of the other money hungry dentists. She is just a great dentist with a great staff. She also teaches at the University of Hawaii so her dental background is solid.
